Comptroller Schaefer Wishes Curran All the Best for Retirement

ANNAPOLIS, MD (May 8, 2006)-Comptroller William Donald Schaefer today released the following statement with regard to Attorney General J. Joseph Curran, Jr., who recently announced he will not seek re-election this year:

"I want to wish Joe all the best during his retirement and thank him for his many years of dedicated and principled service to the people and government of Maryland. But for the life of me, I can't understand why such a young man would want to call it quits this early in his career."
